Cat Tiger shrimp commonly known as the Rainbow Shrimp is a marine crustacean that is widely reared for food also called cocktail shrimp or flower shrimp. Parapenaeopsis sculptilis is the scientific name of Cat Tiger shrimp from the family of PENAEIDAE and Alpha Code: NAP. In some region this shrimp called as green tiger prawn which scientific name Penaeus semisulcatus. Availability of Cat Tiger shrimp in Bangladesh is generally from November to March but it may vary.  Cat Tiger shrimps are fished with nets (trammel) in the Central-Western Pacific Ocean and the Eastern and Western Indian Ocean (Parapenaeopsis sculptilis) or fished by trawl in the Eastern Indian Ocean (Penaeus semisulcatus).
